Company Profile

It was 1998 and in Brazil, we were just beginning to understand how things worked, imagining what paths we would still take with the flexibility of Petrobras, opening the doors for the entry of new players into the country. In this scenario, Benício Biz Editores launched TN Petróleo, the first magazine specialized in technology and business in the oil and gas sectors in Brazil. The publication filled an important gap in the market, which from then on began to take its first steps towards internationalization, leading us to launch, a year later, T&B Petroleum Magazine. This international version traveled the world, visiting countries such as the United States, Great Britain, Norway, Canada, Argentina, China and India, producing a fantastic exchange of knowledge and gaining more and more credibility in these complex markets. At that time, the eyes of the world were already on Brazil, and the global oil and energy industry was making headlines in newspapers and magazines, reporting on its accounting scandals, its disregard for environmental policies, and also the truly fantastic figures of its investments! Information had begun to play an extremely important role in the lives of professionals and companies. The time had come to learn, exchange, develop, and grow, with equal amounts of knowledge to absorb and problems (social, ethical, and environmental) to manage. To overcome so many challenges, competent and reliable communication and information support would be essential, helping to guide actions and disseminate facts in these areas! The space was open for the arrival of TN Projetos Sociais, the first Brazilian magazine specializing in Social Responsibility in the oil, gas, and alternative energy sectors. Keeping up with the market’s evolution, TN Sustentável came onto the scene in 2007 – also as the first Brazilian magazine specializing in sustainability for these markets and the Sustainability Center, now TN Flow, which has been following everything that happens in these sectors ever since, through its products and services (events, podcasts and live broadcasts). Soon after, to meet a direct demand from young people, in 2008, we launched the Student Guide, the only publication in the industry for this audience with the support of IBP and Firjan. This is part of our history and an example of the contribution that a communications company can make to a sector as complex and diverse as oil, gas and biofuels and closely monitor the entire evolution of a topic such as sustainability. It is a long story, filled with a lot of work, some difficulties, but written with great seriousness and a desire to get it right! We still have many chapters to write in the coming years, believing that the evolution of the sector is directly linked to awareness and the quality of information offered to the public involved.
